Amelia Belts exists because of a small, daily annoyance that nobody had bothered to fix properly.
A belt is one of the few things a woman wears every day that is still built to a nineteenth century pattern. Five holes, punched an inch and a quarter apart, on the assumption that a body only ever has five sizes. It does not. It has a size in the morning and a different one after dinner, one in January and another in July.
So the belt is either slightly tight or slightly loose, almost always. And the hole you use most is the one that cracks first, which is how a good leather belt ends up in a drawer.
What we make
Belts with no holes at all. The buckle grips a fine track running the length of the strap, which turns five fixed positions into an adjustment every quarter of an inch. It moves with one hand, while you are wearing it.
The leather is full-grain and left with its own surface rather than sanded smooth and embossed. The hardware is solid rather than plated over a hollow core. Nothing here is complicated. It is a belt that fits, made from materials that hold up.
How we sell
Small runs, in a handful of colours at a time. When a colour is gone from this site it is gone, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pretend the stock is endless.
